The holiday season is definitely a Trendsetter favorite. The food, time with family, and not to mention the styles that are possible. Today, Trendsetters show us what they’re wearing this holiday season!
When putting together a Christmas outfit, what are the colors you think of? Of course, green and red come to mind but for me, my mind is filled with gold. I decided that a gold printed press and red tights, along with gold heels, was the perfect combination for a festive feel. My gold printed dress is from Tobi, one of the best places to get holiday dresses, in my opinion. I decided to pair the dress with red tights because I really thought it would give it the pop it needed along with a more Christmas-y feel. I finished off the outfit with gold peep toed shoes from Shoemint.com and gold studded earrings.
This look would be great for a more dressed up Christmas party because by wearing a dress with heels, you look and feel more fancy. But don’t forget to bring an extra pair of shoes along so you’re not in pain while out dancing with your friends and family!
Christmas is, hands down, my favorite holiday. The food is delicious, the snow makes everything super cozy and you get to wear everything from oversized sweaters to sparkly dresses. For this holiday look, I wanted to put together an outfit that was dressy but cozy at the same time.
I decided to wear my fuzzy white sweater from H&M because it is incredibly warm and reminds me of snow. I tucked that in to my black skater skirt from H&M, which polishes up the look, dressing it up without being over the top. To add a pop of color and some holiday flair, I threw on a red tartan scarf from Target, which is festive but also very warm. Lastly, I’m finishing my look off with some neutral tights and a pair of black flats from the Gap.
You would think dressing for holidays like Christmas and New Year’s Eve would be easy. All of the stores display their most vibrant colors, patterns and sparkles, making women flock through the doors. It’s hard not to buy everything when your holiday spirit kicks in, but simple and elegant pieces with the right accessories can make a big statement. For the holiday season, deep reds, greens, blues and purples are beautiful colors to try out. When wearing a solid color, statement necklaces, simple bracelets and stud earrings with a little bit of sparkle and shine are a perfect way to play up the outfit.
For my look, I chose a sleeveless black shift dress from Zara that I wore with black tights, black booties and a statement necklace from Bohme. This outfit is simple enough to wear to a family dinner and quiet Christmas at home, but versatile enough to wear to a Christmas party. I’m a fan of black, but for my holiday outerwear, I wore a Steve Madden emerald coat and a festive scarf from Francesca’s. Warm coats and scarves are essential for Montana’s winters—especially if you’re traveling to see family or friends for the holiday.
Have fun with holiday dressing. It’s the one chance you get to overdo everything and justify all the glitter. When it comes to Christmas, rich colors and statement jewelry are perfect. When it comes to New Year’s Eve, buy the sequins. Be creative and classy with colors, patterns, makeup and accessories and you can’t go wrong.
I went to maximum Christmas with this outfit (though the ugly Christmas sweaters really aren’t my style). I wore my super expensive ($15) green skinnys and a red and white striped button up from American Rag to showcase my Christmas spirit. Then, to class it up a bit, I added my black velvet Murano smoking jacket with gray paisley detail. You will notice I have my sleeves rolled up and my shirt cuffs showing. This is a good way to make a dressy jacket a bit more casual and to add some color to an otherwise very black jacket. For footwear I wore my brogue toe Stafford boots from JC Penneys that ran me $30.
During Christmas, my family dresses pretty casual, so I decided to dress for New Year’s Eve.
This look is set for going out on the town or a get together with friends. My goal was of course to wear a dress, but it is a little chilly for a short dress this time of year. So I opted for a little twist on the short style with long lace peekaboo from Hollister. This style shows subtle leg, but still gives a girly vibe. I love a good stiletto heel, but knowing I would probably be walking around a lot and possibly dancing, I decided to go with a wedged grey boot. This option still gives height, extenuates the legs, and is functional for long periods of time. To finish this party look, I added a leather jacket and a dark lip. I personally believe a leather jacket will amp any outfit to the next level. Also the dark lip is a trend that is still going strong. My advice to fully achieve this look is to go with a dark matte lipstick and keep the rest of the face more natural.
