Brunch. A six letter word that can turn any lazy Sunday into a special occasion. Breakfast food after 11am, catching up with friends, and wearing something fabulous are all part of the perfect equation that is brunch. Although there are definitely times for rolling out of bed and grabbing brunch in sweats, it can be fun to dress up a little bit. What did the Trendsetters wear to brunch last weekend you ask? (Even if you didn’t ask, just roll with it.) Keep reading for some style inspiration for that most important meal of the day!
I love brunch. I mean, who wouldn’t? Friends, fashion, food…just three of my favorite things wrapped into a perfect package. Brunch with my fellow trendsetters is quite the fabulous affair, especially when the weather is beautiful and the flowers are blooming.
For this outing to Missoula’s Caffe Dolce, I opted for something bright. I don’t usually wear bright colors, but I just loved this hot pink tank top when I saw it at Fracesca’s. It is definitely eye-catching and is great for the summer. A cream sweater looks great on top of it, too.
For pants, I went with contrasting dark blue jeans from Gap. Lighter wash jeans would be cute with the tank, too, but I like that dark jeans dress up my look. Gold jewelry and strappy, tan Steve Madden wedges complete my outfit.
Food-wise, I went with the small breakfast and a caramel latte. Delicious!
To me brunch is just another excuse to eat food with friends. Its a time to all come back together with your squad and talk about the the crazy times you all had the night before. The nice thing about brunch is you don’t have to wake up early but can still order breakfast without getting judged.
As for what to wear to brunch i like to keep things classy but comfortable. Here I am wearing a deep red easy tee from Hollister with a cream colored flowy cardigan. My skinny jeans are from Miss Me and are my go to pants when i don’t want to wear a dress or skirt. My accessories include gold dangling earrings, a pretty matinee length multi chain necklace, and simple black flats.
In many places, brunch is not only known to be a meal that’s a cross between breakfast and lunch but it is also an event. There are usually mimosas, croissants, and typically some Kate Spade in the mix. Brunch is not only a time to eat it’s a time to socialize and show off what you are wearing. When I chose my outfit I channeled a Gossip Girl Upper East Side style. Given that, my outfit is more of a dressed up type of brunch attire.
My dress is by Love, Zoe and it fit perfectly with the time of year with the bright floral print and simple cut out in the back of the dress. I’m a big fan of pastels and flowers and so springtime is my favorite time of the year.
The accessories I chose to pair with my outfit are some of my best Kate Spade pieces. The grey of my purse flowed well with the colors of my outfit and my gold and rhinestone bow bracelet gives the outfit a little sine. Lastly, I paired my outfit with classic espadrilles from American Eagle. The small heel on them makes it easier to walk and more comfortable. These are a fun kind of shoe to wear because they are dressed up without trying too hard.
Nothing goes together better than a sunny spring day and a brunch out with friends, so I was super excited to piece together an outfit for this post! And of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to wear something a little more dainty when we decided to go to one of the cutest cafes in town!
To put together my look, I first started with a floral skirt from Hollister and constructed the rest of the outfit around this piece. I love this skirt because it’s a bold color combination but has a light and airy material along with a floral print which proves to be perfect for spring! I paired this with a simple, loose fitting blouse from Target to keep the look from getting too overpowering in the color department.
As far as accessories, there’s nothing I love more than a floppy hat in the spring sunshine! So I couldn’t resist when I saw that my blue H&M hat coordinated perfectly with the skirt! I felt that brunch was the perfect opportunity to break out my heeled brown booties from Target to consistently follow the formality of the look. Throw in my brown woven belt to match the booties and I’m ready for an 11 am latté with my gal pals!
Brunch is everything I love wrapped into one glorious meal. Not only is it socially acceptable to eat breakfast food whenever you please, but it’s an excuse to get together with your favorite people and maybe even dress up a little. Although I have definitely been guilty of bumming it to brunch, during the spring and summer I love any opportunity to take my sundresses out for a spin.
This colorful floral shift is from Bohme and it’s perfect for brunch because #foodbaby. You can eat as many waffles as you want while being comfortable the entire time, which is a total win when it comes to brunching. Not only will this dress grow as you grow, but it will keep you looking put together the entire time. Going with a bold print is an easy way to look stylish without the help from lots of layers and accessories; perfect for when you’ve slept in too much and are rushing to meet up with your friends for Sunday brunch.
I’ve layered a light cream cardigan from Forever 21 over the top of my dress since mornings are still pretty chilly here in Montana. This cardigan also adds some dimension to the look but the outfit still works with or without it, which is ideal for spring weather. I’m finishing my brunch look off with my sunglasses and brown handbag from H&M and my heeled lace-up sandals from Bohme. These sandals are my new faves because they seriously make any outfit look a million times more amazing.
PSA: The granola with yogurt and berries from Caffe Dolce is seriously bomb. 10/10 would recommend.
