1. Denim Skirt
A skirt is usually written off as a clothing piece for the summer but it is a really great transitional piece to ease into the chillier weather. Pairing a denim skirt with a chunky sweater adds the perfect fall touch making it warm enough to pull off as it gets a little colder. I paired my jean skirt from Misguided with a Gap belt and a super thick black turtle neck sweater from Madewell. For this particular look I decided to wear my Adidas for a really relaxed feel but if you wanted to dress this outfit up or be a little bit warmer it would look great with a pair of over the knee boots.

2. Denim Jacket
A denim jacket is my number one closet essential for transitioning into fall. You can wear a jean jacket with pretty much everything, making you look cool and effortless but also adding a little warmth. I love adding a denim jacket with my favorite summer outfits to make them more acceptable for fall. These pants that I got from T. J. Maxx were perfect with a pair of sandals and a basic tank top in the summer but I just wasn’t ready to put them away yet. I traded the sandals in for a pair of boots by Marc Fisher, put on a plain white t-shirt on from Zara, and threw on my most favorite vintage denim Levi Jacket I got from a flee market in Paris. If you just can’t stand packing away your favorite summer outfits and dresses for the next warmer season, you can simply add a classic Denim Jacket with some extra layers and switch out a few piece to make your outfit more weather appropriate. A sweater and a pair of black jeans is always a go to of mine when pairing with a jean jacket.

Overalls are so fun and definitely don’t need to be left behind in the warmer weather. There so many different fits you can find in the store, whether you want loose boyfriend style or a more fitted look. I have these fitted faded black overalls that i got from H&M. I paired them with these super cute black slides from Target. I paired this outfit with my favorite sweater right now from T. J. Maxx. I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with T. J. Maxx so I suggest going to check out their sweater selection right now. I’m sure you’ll also find a few other things there that you don’t really need. I’ve found if you throw on a pair of overalls with your sweater, automatically you look like you tried a little harder than you do throwing on a pair of jeans. Pair your overall look with your favorite sneakers for a more relaxed feel or a pair of booties of you want to feel more dressed up.

4. Statement Denim
I love a good basic denim jacket or pair of denim jeans, but I’ve been loving this whole statement denim trend. Every store has some sort of spin on at least one piece of denim. Whether its two toned pair of jeans, embellishments on a denim jacket, or embroidered flowers on a denim skirt, its everywhere! This cute denim jacket I have has a little ruffled detail down the sleeve carried through the back. Its the perfect touch of detail to make the jacket a bit more special but doesn’t overpower the rest of the outfit. I paired it with my black Top-Shop Jamie jeans, a stripped Free People top, a thrfited belt, and my suede Marc Fisher booties.

5. Good Old Pair of Jeans
Last but definitely not least: a good old pair of jeans. You really can’t go wrong with your favorite pair of jeans. They are a classic. I prefer to wear only high waisted pairs and these are my favorite ASOS mom jeans. I love how jeans can be worn during a casual day or can be dressed up for an event. In this particular look I decided to try out something new. I thrifted this blazer for only a dollar at Goodwill and have been seeing this look everywhere. Throwing on my favorite pair of jeans made me feel comfortable and confident while wearing something a little out of my comfort zone. I paired it with my black turtle neck from Forever21 and a pair of black leather pointed toe booties by Steve Madden, and I was feeling a little sassy so I wore my favorite circle Ray-Ban sunglasses. Trying out new looks and trends feels a little better when you are wearing at least one piece that you know makes you feel like a million bucks!

Just like my girl Jessie James Decker said, “it don’t matter what you’re wearin’ its about the way you wear it “. Remember that!
